Update, new short story, and Above Dark Waters: SPSFC4 Status
New short story. ADW was cut, but such a nice cut.
Hello Fans. It has been a nice few months.
First of all, lets start this quick post with the good.
Short Story Published!
One of my stories was accepted for publishing in an anthology. I will update you once they post the purchase link but I expect to be out Q1 2025. (Note that due to Amazon’s algorithms, it doesn’t do us authors any good to put long pre-purchase links, plus the editors want everything to be perfect, which is great IMO)
I have not read any of the other stories, but these will have a bit of cyberpunk / cypherpunk / and bitcoinish vibe to them.
Above Dark Waters: Self Published Science Fiction Competition
Second bit of news, not as good as thefirt was that Above Dark Waters was cut from a book competition.
A few months ago, I submitted my novel Above Dark Waters to the Self-published Science Fiction Competition. It was started by Hugh Howie, the author of Wool, a self-published sci-fi success story. My novel was being reviewed by team Tar Vol on, who decided to cut it from the compeition.
But to be honest, they did give it a good review. “Smooth read, grounded worldbuilding and at least one intriguing plotline.”
Sounds about right though. If you’re looking for a smooth read, over-the-top villian (i.e. civilization-ending AGI) and misuses of technology, then Above Dark Waters is for you! Buy it here.
Thanks for reading,
Eric Kay
